Putney, Inc. Launches Veterinary Advisory Board; Prestigious team of experts provide strategic advice on product development

Portland, Maine—February 17, 2009—Putney, Inc., a pharmaceutical company focused on the development of drugs for pets, has established a Veterinary Advisory Board to provide veterinary expertise in targeting and evaluating clinical safety and efficacy of product candidates. Putney is focused on new drug candidates to meet unmet veterinary needs for chronic and frequently diagnosed indications, building on the company's pipeline of prescription generic drugs for dogs and cats. Veterinary Advisory Board members are Dr. Pete Bill, director of the Veterinary Technology Program at Purdue University; Dr. Gary Block of Ocean State Veterinary Specialists; Dr. Whadzen Carrasquillo of Jones Bridge Animal Hospital; Dr. Hugh Lewis, former Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University; and Dr. Mark Papich, Professor of Clinical Pharmacology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University.

The Veterinary Advisory Board will provide strategic input into the identification and evaluation of products in Putney's development portfolio.
