Putney Partnership with Babson College Pays Off

Portland, Maine—August 9, 2010— Putney, Inc., a rapidly growing pet pharmaceutical company, reports that its participation in Babson College’s Consulting Alliance Program (BCAP) has led to the hiring of Derek Chapman as manager of portfolio growth initiatives and marketing. BCAP matches sponsoring companies with teams of MBA students guided by a faculty adviser. Chapman, who learned of Putney through the program and interned for the company last summer, will be responsible for managing the portfolio process to evaluate products for the company’s pipeline.
Recently, U.S. News & World Report named Babson College the #1 MBA program for entrepreneurship for the 16th year in a row. BCAP students act as consultants, conducting market research then presenting suggestions for company-specific commercial strategies. This year Putney’s BCAP team developed a series of creative outreach initiatives aimed at increasing brand awareness among early influencers within both the veterinarian and pet owner communities.
