Putney Donates Carprofen Caplets to Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital
Date: November 28, 2011
Portland, ME—November 28, 2011— Putney, Inc., a rapidly growing pet pharmaceutical company focused on the development and sale of generic prescription medicines for pets, is supporting the Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital in Denver with an ongoing donation of its FDA-approved Carprofen Caplets. Carprofen is used to control post-operative pain from certain surgeries in dogs as well as to relieve the pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in dogs.
Putney’s donation of Carprofen Caplets allows Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital, which subsidizes veterinary care for pets of low-income pet owners, to stretch its budget and treat more pets. Dr. Ingrid Pyka, Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital Director, says Putney’s Carprofen has been instrumental in reducing the cost of the hospital’s spay/neuter program and in providing pain management medication to income-qualified clients. “We are so grateful that Putney has offered this opportunity to us. Veterinary care is often an unaffordable expense for our clients, especially during these challenging economic times,” says Dr. Pyka.
Now in its second year, the Carprofen donation program supports Putney’s mission to help pets live longer and happier lives. “We understand that pets play a significant role in our families. Veterinarians should be able to make healthcare recommendations based on what a pet needs, rather than what a pet owner can afford. We’re committed to developing high quality generic alternatives for the most widely prescribed veterinary medicines, which will provide the best options for the best medicine for our pet family members,” says Jean Hoffman, CEO of Putney.
