Putney's Veterinary Advisory Board provides veterinary expertise in targeting and evaluating clinical safety and efficacy of prescription drug development candidates for dogs and cats.

Pete Bill, DVM, MS, PhD
Dr. Bill is a professor of veterinary pharmacology and director of the Veterinary Technology Program at the School of Veterinary Medicine, Purdue University where he has been contributing to, and growing, the veterinary academic program for more than two decades. Dr. Bill earned not only his BS in Animal Science from Purdue, but also his veterinary degree, and a Masters of Science. Prior to returning to Purdue as a faculty member, Dr. Bill spent five years in small animal veterinary practice in Indiana. He has published textbooks on pharmacology, physiology, and medical mathematics and drug dose calculations.
Gary Block, DVM, MS, DACVIM
Dr. Block is the founder of Ocean State Veterinary Specialists where he practices small animal internal medicine. He earned his veterinary degree at the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in 1991, and completed an internship at the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston the following year. After his residency training in internal medicine at Purdue University, he became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 1994. Dr. Block earned a Master's Degree in 1997 from the Center for Animals and Public Policy at Tufts University. Dr. Block's special interests include gastroenterology, neurology, and endocrinology.
Whadzen Carrasquillo, DVM
Dr. Carrasquillo earned his degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Georgia in 1996. He has been a small animal practitioner at the Jones Bridge Animal Hospital in Alpharetta, GA for the last 13 years. His special areas of interest are Ultrasound Imaging, Oncology, Laser Surgery and geriatric pet care. In 2007, Dr. Carrasquillo created a live blog serving the Spanish speaking community that helps educate and answer questions about proper veterinary care.
Hugh B. Lewis, BVMS, MRCVS, DACVP
Dr. Lewis has been an active voice in the academics and practice of veterinary medicine for more than four decades. On his retirement from Banfield, The Pet Hospital in 2008, Dr. Lewis was named President Emeritus of DataSavant™. Prior to joining Banfield in 1996 he served as Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University for ten years. Preceding his tenure at Purdue Dr. Lewis was the Senior Director of Preclinical Development at Smith Kline & French Laboratories in Philadelphia. Dr. Lewis is a Board Certified Veterinary Clinical Pathologist.
Mark Papich, DVM, MS, DACVCP
Dr. Papich is Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Supervisor of the Clinical Pharmacology Laboratory in the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University. He is a member of the Council of Experts and Chairman for the Veterinary Drugs Expert Committee for the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and a member of the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute Veterinary Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing subcommittee. In addition he served as a member of the Veterinary Medicine Advisory Committee of the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Dr. Papich has taught veterinary pharmacology for more than 20 years. He received his doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Colorado State University and graduate degree from the University of Illinois.
